Wednesday, the weather was calm, we loaded the boat and left the dock at 8:30 am. Trip out to gps Tcut was uneventful. Angie was first in and she worked her way to the center, as the tide just turned from low to high. After 2 hr. Angie called for the boat and had six bugs to her name. I took my time following a PB&J sandwich and knew when I dove the current, it would be swift as we were having a King Tide event. It was not a easy dive for me, and from what I heard from our neighbors who turned us on to the area, that they quit until the tide turned about 2 pm. I called for the boat following a half hour dive and caught one. The one I caught was a challenge, had to use my hand to get him out.
We then moved to let Fernanda dive with the SS in shallower water and better viability. Could not find coral heads until we stopped at gps Sandy in 16'. Viz was better, but Fern could not clear her ears and did not have enough weight to follow Angie to the bottom. Angie checked several heads in the area and came back empty handed. We took Johnson Cut back home and arrived at 2 pm.
